Extrusion recently added a production line for polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheet, more commonly known as plexiglass or methacrylate, to its plants to meet the growing demand for this acrylic polymer with excellent technical qualities.
Our plants produce flat extruded methacrylate sheets of different thicknesses and in different colors. Our methacrylate sheets can be transparent or satin.
The extrusion process gives the sheet homogeneity of thickness, and possibility of
production on request of sizes in lengths different from the standards.
Compared with glass, methacrylate has higher transparency qualities, is much lighter and more robust, with excellent impact resistance: it is the plastic of choice for outdoor use.
Methacrylate is often used as an alternative to glass: it is used in the manufacture of safety glass, in safety guards, and in furniture or architectural objects in general.
Examples of its applications include protective barriers in stadiums and large windows in aquariums, while it finds great use in the bathroom sector where it is used to make bathtubs, shower trays, and transparent walls. Much appreciated is its use in the medical and paramedical sector.
